The Recipe for Mashed Lemmings by Runningdog Kennels

We make this for seven puppies and Misty the food fiend who is eating for seven so you might want to reduce the quantities in half.

4-5Kg   Mixed Veggies and Fruit including;

Carrots - un-peeled

Capsicum

Apples

Broccoli

Silverbeat (Green leafy veggies are really good)

Celery

You can substitute what ever veggies are cheap and in season, except onions. They all get chopped and dropped into the food processor and pulped. Put the pulp into a large pot.

1ltr        water.

Add this to the pulp to make it easier to combine the mince which is quite fatty.

4-5Kg   Pet mince - It is important to use a cheap smelly pet mince not a premium mince. Premium mince has far too much protein and too little of nearly everything else, particularly calcium.

Add this to your pulp and stir well

500g     Offal (Liver, kidneys etc) - blend this in the processor along with the veggies

Substitute - Whole pilchards for variety

2 Cups  Rolled Oats - uncooked

or Breadcrumbs

1 Cup    Flax seed meal

1 Cup    Seaweed meal

1 Cup    Brewers Yeast

1 Cup    Oil

Stir well to combine the mixture and then ladle into convenient freezer containers and freeze. We feed about 300gm per day for a malamute, adults and puppies getting roughly the same amount
